Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Three Indian citizens died as a result of the collapse of the roof of a temporary facility at the construction site of a copper processing plant at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (MOF-3 AGMK) in Tashkent region. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said this in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident occurred on 20 February at approximately 8:00. As a result of prolonged and heavy snowfall and strong winds, the roof of a temporary facility collapsed in the metal preparation shop of Enter Engineering.
As a result, 32 construction company workers (all Indian citizens) were injured. Three of them died on the spot, 29 were hospitalized with various injuries. Four victims received the necessary medical care and were discharged from the hospital.
An investigation is underway.
To investigate this accident, a working group was created consisting of employees of the State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction and the Main Directorate of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Tashkent Region. A study of the situation has begun.
