Three enterprises launched, twelve begin construction in Navoi region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the second day of his visit to Navoi region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremony marking the launch of new investment projects aimed at driving regional development.

The event gathered public representatives and investors celebrating the region’s growing appeal for investments and the rise of foreign enterprises. In 2023 alone, Navoi Region achieved an industrial production output valued at over 101 trillion soums, exports totaling US$648 million, and foreign investments amounting to US$478 million. With foreign trade turnover reaching US$1.3 billion, more than 300 foreign enterprises now operate in the region.

Fifteen new projects were announced during the ceremony. They include initiatives like shale extraction and processing in Kanimekh District, the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant with a 75 MW energy storage system in Karmana District, technical gas production in Navoi, marble processing in Gazgan, granite processing in Zarafshan, kaolin extraction in Uchkuduk District, and fish feed production in Khatirchi District.

Additionally, new enterprises have opened in potassium sulfate and sulfuric acid production in Karmana, cotton cellulose production in Navoi, and granite processing in Nurata District. The total cost of all projects is estimated at US$3.6 billion, with over 7,000 new jobs expected to be created.

President Mirziyoyev symbolically launched the projects, underscoring their significance for the socio-economic advancement of the region.
