Tholons publishes a report that includes TOP-50 “digital nations” and TOP-100 “supercities”.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tholons, an international consulting agency, has published a report that includes TOP-50 “digital nations” and TOP-100 “supercities”.

According to the methodology, the TSGI globalization index is compiled to assess the pace of digital transformation of industries and services around the world.

Tholons agency annually evaluates the transformation of digital services on a global scale, and, as a result, presents two key ratings - the top 100 "super cities" and the top 50 "digital countries" of the planet.

The ratings are formed according to such key indicators as: “human capital”, “development of the business environment”, “costs and infrastructure”, “safety and quality of life”, “digitalization and innovation”.

In 2020, India was ranked first in the ranking of the best digital nations, the United States is in second, and Brazil is in third. The top 10 also includes Canada, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Mexico, Vietnam and Singapore.

In recent years, Asian countries have seen a breakthrough, they occupy the leading places in the ranking. In particular, India is not inferior to the 1st place for the second year in a row, Vietnam has risen by 4 positions compared to 2019 (2019 - 13th, 2020 - 9th).

Of the post-Soviet countries, the rating includes Russia (7th place), Ukraine (38th) and Estonia (42nd).

The three leaders in the top 100 "supercities" rating are Bangalore (India), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Toronto (Canada). The top ten also includes the following Asian cities: Manila (Philippines), Mumbai (India) and Singapore.

This rating also includes some cities of the post-Soviet countries. For example, Moscow (18th place), St. Petersburg (51), Tallinn (58), Kiev (89) were included to the rating.

In general, according to experts, such international rankings help to form and stimulate the spirit of competition between countries for improving performance, as well as to determine guidelines for the medium term for states. In turn, improving the country’s performance can become a platform for creating a national brand of the country (cities) and its active promotion in the international arena.
