Thermal Power Stations generates 17 billion kWh of electricity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In the first half of 2024, Thermal Power Stations generated 17 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 11.8 percent more compared to the planned target, according to the company’s press service.

Under the investment program, US$257.8 million has been utilized, which is 1 percent more compared the planned figure.

Construction work is currently underway on investment projects to build modern energy-efficient combined cycle power plants with a total capacity of 1,065 MW at the Talimarjan TPP and 650 MW at the Navoi TPP.

One of the important tasks facing the company is reducing the cost of production. As a result of the measures taken for this purpose, the production cost for January-June 2024 was reduced by 758.9 billion soums.

To prepare for the autumn-winter season of 2024/2025, capital, medium, and current repair work is planned for 53 energy facilities, including 14 power units, 1 turbogenerator, 28 boiler units, 7 combined cycle plants, and 3 gas turbine plants.

Preparation for the season began in February this year, and to date, repair work has been completed on 6 power units, 5 combined cycle plants, and 17 boiler units. Capital and medium repairs are being carried out on 4 power units and 8 boiler units.

As a result of the full implementation of the planned repair works, the existing capacity of the power equipment will be increased by 281 MW, and the production capacity of the boiler equipment by 150 tons/hour.

Additionally, preparations for the autumn-winter season are underway at the "Tashkent Heat Center" boiler houses of AO "Thermal Power Stations."

To ensure consumers are supplied with thermal energy, 8 out of the 15 planned boiler units have been prepared, and repair work continues on 5 boiler units.

From January to June 2024, within the framework of the localization program, products worth 32.1 billion soums were produced. The volume of imports decreased to US$9.3 million.
