Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 June, the XIX session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum began its work in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the Uzbek side, organized by the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The current Forum is dedicated to the theme "The Role of the SCO in New Conditions: Uniting Efforts for the Sake of General Security, Stability, and Prosperity."

More than 40 experts from 10 countries are participating in its work, including a representative delegation of national research centers of SCO member states, specialists from observer states and dialogue partners of the SCO, as well as the leadership of the SCO Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).

The agenda of the event includes the discussion of the following three main sessions dedicated to priority areas of cooperation within the SCO, enhancing the effectiveness of the SCO in the modern stage of development, and further prospects for improving the activities of the SCO Forum.

At the end of the Forum, it is planned to sign a Protocol of the session, which will reflect the approaches and vision of the SCO member states on the issues of the event’s agenda.
