The XIV Forum of Economists of Uzbekistan is being held in the capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IPMI), with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), held the next XIV Forum of Economists of Uzbekistan on 14 October 2022.

The purpose of the upcoming Forum is to attract international and local experts to discuss topical issues of the development of the economy of Uzbekistan in the context of new priorities and prospects, as well as to develop scientific and practical recommendations to ensure effective transition to a green economy and macroeconomic stability, taking into account new challenges and risks.

The Forum will discuss such areas as:

1. Ensuring macroeconomic stability and development of the real sector in the face of new challenges and risks.

2. Effective ways to transition to a green economy.

3. Priorities for the development of the social sphere and human capital in the transformation period.

4. Reserves and opportunities for the integrated development of regions.

The Development Strategy for 2022-2026 adopted by the government of the country is a powerful roadmap to achieve the goals set in the process of building New Uzbekistan. The issues that will be raised for discussion within the framework of the Forum are very important for understanding the main priorities of the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the domestic and international scientific community take part in the Forum. In particular, representatives of such international organizations as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the French Development Agency, the World Bank, the German Economic Group, as well as researchers from the School of Social Sciences of the University of Miami (USA) and the Tashkent branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

In their speeches, the speakers will highlight the most pressing topics of today and reveal the possibilities for achieving the priorities set for the country as part of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.

Particular attention will be paid to such issues as the role of education in the economic development of the country, assessing the potential of Uzbekistan in the transition to a green economy, gender aspects of human capital, increasing the attractiveness of the country for foreign direct investment, as well as possible directions for transforming the electric power system of Uzbekistan.

The forum is open to everyone who wants to take part in discussions and contribute to finding answers to the most pressing questions today.
