Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The next day of the World Junior and Youth Fencing Championship, hosted by Saudi Arabia, ended on a high note for the Uzbekistan team. Today, domestic saber fencers who competed in the junior category were awarded with one gold, silver and bronze medal.
In the final among boys, two Uzbek fencers Sardor Abdukarimov and Alpamis Urakbaev fought for the championship. In an uncompromising fight, Sardor won with a score of 15:14. Thus, Abdukarimov won the gold award, and Urakbaev won the silver.
And in the competition among girls, Nargiza Dzhaksibayeva, who reached the semifinals, was awarded a bronze medal. It is worth noting that at the world championship in Bulgaria last year, Dzhaksibayeva also took third place.
