Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of problem loans (NPL) in the portfolio of Uzbek banks reached 12.93 trillion soums. This is evidenced by the data of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
According to the regulator, the share of NPL in the portfolio of Uzbek banks amounted to 4.4% as of 1 May 2021 against 3.6% as of 1 April 2021.
The volume of NPL in state banks of Uzbekistan as of 1 May 2021 is 11.18 trillion soums (share in the portfolio of banks - 4.4%), and in private banks - 1.74 trillion soums (4.9%).
National Bank of Uzbekistan leads in terms of NPL volume - 2.64 trillion soums (share in the portfolio - 4.4%). They are followed by Asaka Bank (1.75 trillion soums or 4.8%), Uzpromstroybank (1.55 trillion soums or 4.0%), Ipoteka Bank (1.2 trillion soums or 4.8%).
At the same time, Uzagroexportbank is the leader in terms of the share of NPL in its portfolio (54.6%).
