The volume of construction work completed amounted to 31.06 trillion soums in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2024, the volume of construction work completed in Uzbekistan reached 31.06 trillion soums, which, in relation to the same period in 2023, is 6.8% more.

In January-March 2024, high volumes of construction work were noted in the regions, in particular in the city of Tashkent (7.72 trillion soums), Tashkent (3.56 trillion soums) and Kashkadarya (2.07 trillion soums) regions.
 
Construction work in the Republic of Uzbekistan for January-March 2024 is distributed by type of economic activity as follows:
 
- the share of construction of buildings and structures reached 68.5%, which, compared to the same period in 2023, grew by 6.1%;
 
-the share of construction of civil facilities was fixed at 20.8% and, if compared with the corresponding period in 2023, it grew by 13.5%;

- the share of specialized construction work is 11.6% and, compared to the same period in 2023, this amounted to 99.6%.

A significant part of the work was carried out on constructing new buildings and structures. Thus, 67.4% of their total volume, or 20.94 trillion soums, were aimed at creating new production capacities in the economic sphere, housing and communal services and other social facilities.

Large construction organizations carried out construction work on new construction worth 5.83 trillion soums, or 27.9% of their total volume.

Small enterprises and micro-firms completed construction work on new construction worth 9.68 trillion soums, or 46.2% of their total volume.

In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was completed for 5.42 trillion soums, or 25.9% of their total volume.

In January-March 2024, high volumes were noted for new construction work by region, in particular in Tashkent city (4.58 trillion soums), Tashkent region (1.79 trillion soums), Samarkand region (1.52 trillion soums) and Ferghana region (1.3 trillion soums).

According to the Statistical Classifier of Products (goods, works, services) by type of economic activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SKP), starting from 1 January 2015, the indicator “Volume of work performed on its own” is applied for the type of activity “Construction”.

The share in the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in the overall structure of buildings and structures was 21.4% and, compared to the same period in 2023, it decreased by 3.4 percentage points.

The share of small enterprises and microfirms in this type of activity, when compared with the same period in 2023, increased by 0.6 percentage points. and amounted to 50.5%.

The share of the informal sector, compared to the same period in 2023, increased by 2.8 percentage points. and amounted to 28.1%.

The share of the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations for the construction of civil facilities amounted to 27.9% and increased, compared to the corresponding period in 2023, by 6.6 percentage points. The share of small enterprises and micro-firms in the construction of facilities amounted to 72.1% (decreased by 6.5 percentage points).

The highest shares of construction work performed by type of activity construction of civil facilities were noted in the Samarkand region (63.5% of the total volume of construction work performed in this region), Syrdarya region (40.8%) and Khorezm region (30.6%).

The share of the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations for specialized construction work amounted to 23.0% and, compared to the corresponding period in 2023, increased by 4.6 percentage points.

Also, the share of small enterprises and micro-firms in the construction of facilities amounted to 77.0% (decreased by 4.6 percentage points).

The highest shares of construction work performed by type of activity, specialized construction work, were noted in Namangan region (18.8%), Tashkent city (16.7% of the total volume of construction work performed in this region) and Tashkent region (14.6%).

The volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in January-March 2024 amounted to 7.13 trillion soums. Compared to the same period in 2023, during the period under review, the volume of construction work amounted to 105.2%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.3% and amounted to 23.0%.

The highest share in the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations was noted in Kashkadarya region (26.1% of the total volume of construction work in this region), Navoi region (23.8%) and Tashkent city (23. 5 %)

The share of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms in January-March 2024 amounted to 57.8% of their total volume, which is 1.5% less when compared with the same period in 2023.

Thus, the total volume of construction work performed by them amounted to 17953.5 billion soums and, in relation to the corresponding period in 2023, it reached 105.3%.

The largest volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and micro-firms during the period under review was noted in Tashkent (5215.0 billion soums), Tashkent (1842.3 billion soums) and Samarkand (1358.9 billion soums) areas.

The share of construction work in the informal sector amounted to 19.2%, or 5975.1 billion soums and, in relation to the same period in 2023, it reached 114.0%.

In the informal sector, work on individual housing construction reached 4,798.7 billion soums and, in relation to the same period in 2023, this amounted to 121.2%, also for the construction of non-residential facilities by individuals - 627.8 billion soums.

The largest volumes of construction work carried out by the informal sector during the period under review were noted in the Tashkent region (1055.9 billion soums), Tashkent city (692.4 billion soums) and Bukhara region (604.7 billion soums).
