Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January 2021, the volume of bank cash turnover in Uzbekistan reached 32.1 trillion soums, an increase of 7 percent compared to January 2020. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the volume of cash receipts to bank cash desks made up 17.0 trillion soums, and cash consumption - 15.1 trillion soums.
In January of this year, there is an increase in the consumption of cash through the cash desks of banks (including ATMs) by 6.7 percent compared to January 2020, which was mainly due to an increase in the volume of cash withdrawals from bank cards by 1.7 trillion soums (1.5 times).
As a result, the share of cash withdrawn from bank cards in the total volume of cash spent by banks reached from 25 percent to 35 percent.
In January 2021, the volume of funds transferred to bank cards amounted to 15.9 trillion soums, at the same time, the population from bank cards cashed funds in the amount of 5.2 trillion soums (32.8 percent).
