Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 11-12 September, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized a visit of Uzbek entrepreneurs to Korea to participate in the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum, as part of the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The purpose of this forum is to expand cooperation between the two countries, effectively implement agreements, and establish contacts for the further development of trade and economic relations.

During the event, an exchange of views took place on issues of further enhancing the strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as on strengthening economic ties, in particular, initiatives were put forward to establish close cooperation and implement new projects and programs between government departments and the private sector.

“Together with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Jin welcomed the participants of the business forum - more than 300 representatives of leading companies from both countries. It is worth noting that joint projects worth about US$13 billion are currently being implemented in Uzbekistan. The number of enterprises operating in our country with the participation of South Korean capital has doubled over the past 4 years. There are much more opportunities for further expansion of interaction. In this regard, we urge everyone to take advantage of this unique moment and combine the advanced developments and innovative technologies of South Korea with strategic resources and human potential,” noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

As a result of the business forum, B2B meetings were held between entrepreneurs of the two countries and agreements were reached on establishing cooperation in the textile, agro-industrial and manufacturing sectors.
