Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Uzbek soum in commercial banks of Uzbekistan has exceeded the mark of 10,000 soums.

On the afternoon of 14 April, banks bought 1 US dollar for 9,750–9,840 soums, and sold 1 US dollar for 9,850 soums. In the evening, banks began to buy the dollar for 10,050 soums and sell 10,150 soums, respectively.

It should be noted that on 14 April, the Central Bank set the rate of the US dollar against the Uzbek soum at 9793 soums.

As we already reported, on 13 April, the Central Bank estimated the likelihood of a sharp devaluation of the soum rate as low and noted that there was enough cash foreign currency at the cash desks of banks for conversion operations.
