The transport ministers of the Central Asian countries signed a Joint Communiqué on cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 13 September, the first meeting of transport ministers of Central Asian countries was held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Issues of developing cooperation in the field of transport logistics were discussed at an event organized as part of the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.

At the meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabaev and the Director of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhon Chakiev took part and spoke.

The transport ministers of the region’s countries expressed their proposals to strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of land transport in Central Asia. They agreed that all countries in the region are interconnected, and in response to new features and challenges, they must strengthen solidarity and interaction, and work to solve existing problems through joint efforts.

Following the meeting, a Joint Communiqué on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics was signed. The parties recognize the important role of transport and logistics as the basis for bringing countries closer together, promoting international trade, economic growth and sustainable development
