The total aggregate income of the population makes up 251.8 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to preliminary data, in January-September 2019, the total volume of aggregate income of the population made up 251.8 trillion soums, the growth rate reached 22.3%.

In January-September 2019, total per capita income made up 7.5 million soums, nominal growth rate - 20.0%, real growth rate - 5.2%.

In order to exclude the influence of price factors for calculating the real growth rates of household incomes, the consumer price index (CPI) is used - one of the main types of inflation indicator. Due to changes in consumer prices, the growth rate of the aggregate income of the population, compared to the same period last year, made up 7.1% in real terms.

The average per capita nominal aggregate income of the population above the national average was recorded in Tashkent – 14.76 million soums, Navoi - 11.63 million soums, Bukhara – 9.42 million soums and Khorezm – 7.93 million soums in the regions.

The lowest average per capita nominal total income of the population was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 5.43 million soums, as well as in Namangan – 5.91 million soums and Ferghana – 5.82 million soums in the regions.

A very high rate of real growth in total per capita income was recorded in Tashkent - 12.2% and Andijan - 7.1%. Also, in Navoi - 6.9%, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 6.6%, Syrdarya - 5.6% and Namangan - 5.7% oblasts, the average per capita income exceeds the average republican level.

Significant changes in total income of the population are mainly facilitated by significant changes in income from labor activity (income of employees and self-employment), which account for 69.5% of total income and 25.1% are income from transfers.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) was observed in Navoi region (83.4%). On the contrary, in the city of Tashkent, Khorezm, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Ferghana, Andijan and Namangan regions, it was recorded below the average republican level. Also, in Khorezm region, the share of transfer income made up more than 30% of the total income of the population.

According to preliminary data for January-September 2019, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of total income of the population made up 69.5%, the nominal growth rate of income by the corresponding period of 2018 reached 119.8% and contributed to the increase in the nominal volume of total income in the order of 14 , 0%.

The highest nominal growth rates of wage earners were recorded in Jizzakh (32.6%), Namangan (32.3%) and Navoi (31.5%) regions.

The share of income from self-employment in total income by region varies and varies from 16.1% (in Tashkent) to 58.8% (in the Jizzakh region). With an increase in income from self-employment by 1%, the total amount of total income increases by 0.45%.

The main share of income from self-employment fell to Samarkand (11.7%), Andijan (9.8%) and Kashkadarya (9.5%) regions.

The following regions with the smallest share are Syrdarya region (2.6%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.1%), as well as Navoi (4.7%) region.

The effect of property income on the change in the total aggregate income of the population is insignificant. In the past period, these incomes contributed to the growth of total comprehensive income in the order of 1.1%.

Two-thirds of the volume of property income received in January-September 2019 fell to the share of Tashkent - 66.7%. The next regions with significant weight are Tashkent (5.5%), Samarkand (4.4%) and Ferghana (3.8%) regions, Karakalpakstan: 1.5% Andijan: 2.2% Bukhara: 3.2% Jizzakh: 1.0% Kashkadarya: 2.2% Navoi: 1.5% Namangan: 2.3% Samarkand: 4.4% Surkhandarya: 1.7% Syrdarya: 0.8% Tashkent: 5.5% Ferghana: 3.8% Khorezm: 3.2%

Social transfers, in turn, include pensions, benefits and scholarships. According to preliminary data for January-September 2019, 39.1% of income from transfers accounted for income from social transfers, 60.9% of income from other current transfers.

The share of social transfers for the specified period made up 9.8%, the growth rate reached 31.3%.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2018, the growth rate of pensions was 29.7%, the growth rate of benefits was 44.0%, and the growth rate of scholarships was 25.3%.

Changes over the past period of pensions, benefits and scholarships contributed to the growth of the total population income by 2.9%. The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers made up 82.6%, benefits - 13.3%, scholarships - 4.1%.

In January-September of this year, 3.3 trillion were allocated for social support of the population as benefits and material assistance. Of these, 52.4% of insurance benefits were funded by the extrabudgetary Pension Fund, 47.6% were allocated from the republican and local budgets.

The nominal growth rate of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, in January-September 2019 made up 25.3%, and their share, compared to the same period of last year, in the total income of the population increased by 0.4 p.p. and made up 15.3%, the change in income from other current transfers ensured an increase in the nominal value of the aggregate income of the population by 3.8%.

According to preliminary data for January-September 2019, of the total population income, the share of income received from small businesses made up 60.2%.

The share of income from small business in the structure of the region’s total income varies: the highest share was recorded in Jizzakh region - 70.0%, the smallest share - in Tashkent - 49.1%.
