Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The territory of the Namangan free economic zone will be expanded by 70 hectares as empty land in  Turakurgan district was allocated to the zone.

This is stipulated by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan.

This measure is aimed at introducing modern technologies, creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and increasing the production capacity of import-substituting and export-oriented products within the Namangan free economic zone.

The resolution instructed to develop a master plan for new territories within a month. The State Unitary Enterprise “Directorate of the Free Economic Zone “Namangan” will finance the development of the general plan at its own expense.

In addition, measures will be taken to develop, within three years, new lands with an area equal to five times the size of the area of agricultural land plots allocated for the expansion of the free economic zone.

Free economic zone “Namangan” was created in August 2018 in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan.
