The system of growing products on land areas along the edges of fields is being improved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On measures to improve the system of growing products on land areas along the edges of the fields of agricultural enterprises” was adopted.

According to the resolution, in 2023, the Agency for the Provision of Agricultural Services was allowed to hire up to 4 seasonal agronomists in each district, up to 672 in total, in 2023 for the proper and high-quality organization of work along the edges of the fields, providing practical assistance to land owners from the start of sowing to product sales.

To this end, the Agency’s system introduces a position of a deputy director responsible for the implementation of a system for growing products on land areas along the edges of the fields of agricultural enterprises.

It was determined that out of 400 billion soums of the budget loan, the allocation of which is envisaged in 2023 to the Agency’s Horticulture and Greenhouse Development Fund, 100 billion soums will be allocated at a rate of 10 percent per annum for the following purposes:

providing seeds, seedlings, mineral fertilizers, chemicals and material and technical resources necessary for the development and cultivation of products along the edges of the fields;

allocation of a loan for a period of 12 months, including a grace period of up to 6 months, at a rate of 14 percent per annum for the installation of pumps and pipes to provide water. At the same time, the allocated borrowed funds cannot exceed 50 percent of the income received.

According to the resolution, the Fund for Support of Farmers, Dekhkan Farms and Owners of Homestead Lands will allocate 50 billion soums for the purchase of drying shops and refrigeration stores:

agricultural enterprises for a period of 84 months, including a grace period of up to 36 months, at a rate of 14 percent per annum.

Soft loans will be allocated at a rate of 14 percent per annum to farms with collector and drainage networks around their agricultural lands, for breeding 200-250 ducks in drainage waters and creating bee hives as part of family business development programs.

In 2023-2025, compact “social greenhouses” will be built in Syrdarya region on an area of 500 hectares along the edges of unused empty fields and around collector and drainage networks, and their allocation on a turnkey basis with an area of 2.5 acres will be ensured for citizens included in the “ Iron Notebook”, “Youth Notebook” and “Women’s Notebook”, as well as those who returned from labor migration.
