Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz ) – The role of cotton and textile clusters in the rapid development of the textile and agricultural industries of Uzbekistan is invaluable. Currently, along with Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have shown great interest in the cluster system of Uzbekistan. Clusters also form their own clusters in these countries.

Within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Azerbaijan, on 21 August, a business forum was organized in Baku with the participation of representatives of relevant companies, ministries and departments of the two countries, as well as more than 250 leading companies. 

Along with the leadership of the Uztextilprom Association, large Uzbek textile enterprises such as TanTex Group, Alliance Textile, Zelal Tekstil, Baraka Teks also took an active part in the forum.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings were organized with representatives of the Agency for the Development of Economic Regions of Azerbaijan. Since last year, negotiations have been held on proposals for the creation and development of clusters in the territories of the two countries. 

As a result of this meeting, an agreement was reached on the creation of textile clusters on the territory of Azerbaijan based on the success story of Uzbekistan. The development of project documentation and the implementation of practical work has begun.

Also, the Uzbek delegation held talks with major producers of cotton raw materials "MKT", "Azerpambiq" and "P-agro" in Azerbaijan on the import of cotton fiber to Uzbekistan. Anteks Group LLC and TanTex Group LLC have reached an agreement on the opening of two yarn production enterprises in the free economic zone located in the city of Mingechaur.
