Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Statistics Program, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan carried out a preliminary assessment of the gross regional product of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent for January-March 2024.

In January-March 2024, the largest contribution to the formation of the republic’s GDP was made by the city of Tashkent with a share of 20.1%. Tashkent and Navoi regions occupy the next places with indicators of 10.3% and 8.6%, respectively. The smallest shares in the formation of the republic’s GDP are Syrdarya (1.9%), Jizzakh (2.6%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.9%).

Based on the results of January-March 2024, the share of small entrepreneurship (business) in the republic’s GDP was 42.7%. By region, its largest share was observed in Surkhandarya (69.5% of the total gross added value created in the region), Samarkand (68.2%), Jizzakh (65.6%), Namangan (64.4%) regions . The smallest share of small entrepreneurship (business) was noted in Navoi (18.6%) and Tashkent (45.2%) regions.

According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for January-March 2024 increased by 5.6% and amounted to 7.07 trillion soums. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.5% (share in the GRP structure - 13.0%), industry - 7.6% (28.6%) , construction – 4.2% (7.0%) and service sector – 5.4% (51.4%). GRP per capita increased by 4.2% and amounted to 3.52 million soums.

The volume of GRP of Andijan region in current prices amounted to 12.77 trillion soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased in real terms by 13.1%.

Positive growth rates were noted in the following main sectors: agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 3.0% (share in the GRP structure – 17.3%), industry – 29.6% (34.9%), construction – 113 .2% (5.1%) and the service sector – 106.9% (42.7%). GRP per capita amounted to 3,754.2 thousand soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased by 10.7%.

GRP of Bukhara region amounted to 10.17 trillion soums and compared to January-March 2023, increased by 6.9%. The growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 3.2% (share in the GRP structure - 24.8%), industry - 6.4% (23.5%), construction - 9.1% (8.7%) and service sector – 8.9% (43.0%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 5.1% and amounted to 4.97 million soums.

The increase in GRP of Jizzakh region amounted to 7.7% and reached 6.36 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rates were: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.3% (share in the GRP structure - 30.1%), industry - 12.8% (21.6%), construction - 15.3 % (5.7%) and the service sector – 7.1% (42.6%).

The volume of GRP of Kashkadarya region reached 11.38 trillion soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased by 7.1%. Positive growth rates were recorded in the following main sectors: agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.5% (share in the GRP structure - 19.8%), industry - 7.7% (23.4%), construction - 19, 6% (7.9%) and the service sector – 6.3% (48.9%). GRP per capita increased by 4.8% and amounted to 3.19 million soums.

The GRP of the Navoi region reached 20,993.1 billion soums and the increase was 7.8%. GRP growth is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the region’s economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates reached 4.2% (share in the GRP structure - 6.4%), industry - 8.4% (77.7%), construction - 9.6% (2.7%)  and the service sector – 5.8% (13.2%). GRP per capita increased by 5.8% and amounted to 19.48 million soums.

The GRP of Namangan region made up 9.25 trillion soums, which is 8.3% higher than the data for January-March 2023. The GRP growth rate is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 4.3% (share in the GRP structure - 19.0%), industry - 9.8% (19.4%), construction - 9.8% (6.9%) and the service sector - 9.1% (54.7%). GRP per capita increased by 6.0% and amounted to 3.01 million soums.

The volume of GRP of Samarkand region amounted to 15.55 trillion soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased by 6.3%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in the sectors of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.4% (share in the GRP structure - 21.8%), industry - 6.3% (18.1%), construction - 9.3 % (5.3%) and service sector – 7.1% (54.8%). GRP per capita increased by 4.0% and amounted to 3.68 million soums.

The GRP of Surkhandarya region grew by 5.5% to 7.64 trillion soums. GRP growth factors were the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 103.5% (share in the GRP structure - 28.8%), industry - 104.2% (9.4%), construction - 106.1% (9.0%) and the service sector – 106.7% (52.8%). GRP per capita amounted to 2,648.6 thousand soums and increased by 2.9%.

The volume of GRP of Syrdarya region amounted to 4.65 trillion soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased by 5.8%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 4.2% (share in the GRP structure - 18.7%), industry - 7.1% (40.8%), construction - 4.5% (6.4%) and the service sector – 5.6% (34.1%). GRP per capita increased by 3.8% and amounted to 5.07 million soums.

The GRP of Tashkent region amounted to 24.93 trillion soums, with an increase of 6.9%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.5% (share in the GRP structure - 13.1%), industry -6.2% (50.2%), construction - 11.3% (6.3%) and the service sector – 8.6% (30.4%). Compared to January-March 2023, GRP per capita in real terms increased by 4.8% and amounted to 8.15million soums.

Ferghana region’s GRP was 13.04 trillionsoums, growing by 6,1% in the reporting period. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates reached 4.0% (share in the GRP structure - 17.7%), industry - 8.1% (23.1%), construction - 7.5% (6.5% ) and the service sector – 5.9% (52.7%). GRP per capita amounted to 3.2 million soums and increased by 3.9%.

The GRP of Khorezm region increased by 5.7% and amounted to 7,579.8 billion soums. The growth of GRP is due to the growth rate in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.5% (share in the GRP structure - 29.8%), industry - 4.1% (19.3%), construction - 22.1% (6 .9%) and the service sector – 5.7% (44.0%). GRP per capita increased by 3.7% and amounted to 3.79 million soums.

The volume of GRP of the city of Tashkent rwached 48.88 trillion soums and, compared to January-March 2023, increased by 10.5%. GRP growth factors were growth rates in industry - 9.1% (share in the GRP structure - 30.4%), construction - 8.4% (7.4%) and services - 11.4% (62.2% ). GRP per capita amounted to 16.03 million soums and increased by 7.5%.
