Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the President “On further support for the participation of citizens in the processes of channeling funds from the district and city budgets to events formed on the basis of public opinion” was adopted.

According to the results of the process of initiative budgeting, carried out in the first quarter of 2022, 2,215 projects put forward by citizens were recognized as winners and 1.1 trillion soums will be allocated for their implementation.

Districts (cities) will receive an additional 85.4 billion soums of funds for the implementation of 139 projects, each of which received more than 2 thousand votes, but was not recognized as the winner in the initiative budgeting processes held in February-March 2022. These funds are directed at the expense of funds based on the facts of offenses identified by the State Financial Control Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance during the control measures carried out in 2022.

The responsibility for monitoring the full and high-quality implementation, timely financing of the work defined in the projects recognized as winners in the processes of initiative budgeting is assigned to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions, Tashkent city, districts and cities. At the same time, the reports of the above persons will be heard in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis based on the results of each quarter.

The resolution established that:

assessment of timely financing and implementation of activities formed on the basis of public opinion is carried out by district and city Kengashes of people’s deputies based on the results of each quarter;

based on the results of the reporting year, the State Financial Control Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance exercises final control over the implementation of measures formed on the basis of public opinion;

Khokims of districts (cities) regularly report in the media on the results of projects implemented on the basis of initiative budgeting.
