The state of tourist, sports and cultural facilities of Khorezm region was studied

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov visited Khorezm region and studied the tourist, sports and cultural infrastructure of Urgench and Khiva.

During the visit, Aziz Abdukhakimov gave the necessary recommendations on creating all the necessary conditions for visitors to the region, starting with the airport and railway stations, improving streets, building stations, and erecting bicycle paths.

The working group also critically and analytically studied the work to improve the condition of the facade of the Ogakhi Khorezm Regional Music and Drama Theater in Urgench and the construction work around it.

During his visit to Urgench, Aziz Abdukhakimov visited the Urgench Olympic Reserve College, where he got acquainted with the conditions created for students, the course of sports activities. The minister held a conversation with young people and coaches, listened to their problems and gave the necessary instructions to the relevant leaders.

Then the responsible leaders got acquainted with the construction of the Farovon hotel in Khiva. The total area of the future five-star hotel is 12.1 hectares and an underground area of 1 hectare. The hotel has 3 floors and is designed for 100 rooms.

The next place was the Mamun Academy Museum. The Deputy Prime Minister shared his recommendations for improving the lighting in the museum and enhancing the national color. Aziz Abdukhakimov visited the library of the museum and instructed the responsible leaders of the region to expand it and replenish it with various literature.

Abdukhakimov also studied the work on the repair of Ichan-Kala, noted the existing shortcomings and gave suggestions and instructions for their elimination.

“We must make Khorezm comfortable not only for tourists, but also for the life and recreation of local residents. We will definitely achieve a positive result, provided that everyone approaches this work with equal responsibility, will conscientiously do their job and eliminate shortcomings in a timely manner. The construction of new tourist facilities is very important for the employment of the local population,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
