Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 November 2023, a meeting was held between the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismailov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun.

At the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador was presented with details about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in various areas at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The new edition of the Constitution, the strategy “Uzbekistan - 2030” and the main directions of work of the Legislative Chamber were also discussed.

The parties exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including issues of interparliamentary and international parliamentary organizations. It was noted that it is important to continue strengthening the practical dialogue between parliamentary friendship groups. The importance of expanding cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and environmental spheres was also emphasized.

Chinese Ambassador Yu Jun expressed gratitude for the detailed information provided and expressed confidence in the high assessment of the comprehensive reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the PRC. He also emphasized his readiness to contribute to the development of friendly relations between the two countries.

The parties also discussed other issues of interest to both parties.
