The document was signed in the Gallery named after Arthur M. Sackler in Washington (USA) on 16 May 2018.
The agreement was signed to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in the sphere of culture, as well as to implement projects related to education, history, art, and other cultural activities.
Within the framework of the document, the parties agreed to study potential cooperation related to art, historical and cultural objects, research in the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Central Asia.
The cooperation will include capacity building programs within the discipline of museology, joint research and publications, exhibition activities, and the exchange of available information about objects from the collections of the Smithsonian Institution and museums of Uzbekistan and galleries.
