Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A regional stage of an IT competition among students of secondary schools was held in Samarkand region as part of the One Million Programmers project. This competition was organized by the khokimiyat of the region together with the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan among students of secondary schools.
On 6-7 January 2022, the city and district stages of the competition were held, following which the winners were determined who received a ticket to the regional stage.
At the regional stage, 180 students took part, in each direction the best were identified. The winners were given laptops, the second place winners - tablets, and the third place winners - mobile phones.
At the same time, award ceremonies were also held for the winners of city and regional stages, as a result of which the winners of the first place received laptops, the second place - smartphones and the third place - e-books.
One of the winners of the regional stages were 15-year-old Sardor Sattarov, 16-year-old Javokhir Sirojiddinov and 17-year-old Ogabek Sobirjonov. Unfortunately, young people did not receive well-deserved gifts immediately. But the situation with the award was nevertheless resolved.
15-year-old Sardor Sattorov, who can be seen on the spread video, won the district stage of the competition and went to the regional stage, where he could not take a prize. As a result, due to a shortcoming on the part of the organizers, he was given a smartphone as a gift instead of a laptop.
As a result, in order to clarify this situation, the khokimiyat of the region held a press conference, at which representatives of the khokimiyat announced that all those responsible would be punished.
The IT Park delegation, with the support of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for its part, also talked with these young people for future support of novice specialists, where they provided them with free training at the regional IT Center for Python and IT English courses.
In addition, free access was opened for young people with a special course on the Coursera platform, as well as branded gifts to boost the morale of young talents.
