Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting of the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank following the results of a case study on the provision of deposit services to individuals in commercial banks. It was attended by representatives of commercial banks.
According to the results of the study, deficiencies in providing information to consumers about deposits and their conditions in banking institutions were revealed, including the discrepancy between the information provided by bank employees to consumers on deposits and the information posted on the official website of the bank. Cases related to insufficient knowledge and skills of employees in the provision of deposit services were also discussed.
At the same time, it was noted at the event that the employee is obliged to provide complete and reliable information on the conditions of the deposit, otherwise the rights of consumers to banking services are violated. It was noted that in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Banks and Banking Activities", sanctions may be applied to commercial banks that have committed such actions.
Following the meeting, commercial banks were given the necessary instructions and recommendations to eliminate existing problems in the provision of deposit services and further improve the quality of deposit services.
