Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 16 to 20 October, the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly will take place at the Silk Road Samarkand tourism complex in Samarkand.
For information, during the voting at the previous General Assembly in Spain in 2021, Uzbekistan surpassed Portugal and Egypt in the competition for hosting the next international event.
It is worth noting that representatives from over 130 countries from around the world will participate in this current session of the General Assembly. This figure exceeds the previous General Assembly sessions.
Within the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand, there will be an International Investment Forum, International Education Forum, the "Best Tourism Villages" award ceremony, as well as a series of plenary sessions and cultural events.
Undoubtedly, hosting this prestigious event in Uzbekistan will increase the attention of the global community towards our country. The attendance of international media and investors from member states of the World Tourism Organization at the General Assembly will be significant.
