Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the end of April, the 5th conference of the League of Parliamentarians (Platforms) for Al-Quds was held in Istanbul, Türkiye.

About 600 parliamentarians from more than 75 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa took part in the conference.

The President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar and the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye N. Kurtulush took part in it and spoke.

During the event, issues of expanding the efforts of international organizations aimed at easing tensions and ending the conflict in the Middle East were discussed.

At the conference, the Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption Nariman Umarov made a report and emphasized the importance of the conference activities for establishing peace and stability in the Gaza Strip.

In his report, the senator noted the need for both sides, for humanitarian purposes, to immediately come to a compromise, stop hostilities, and resolve the conflict diplomatically.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan is ready to support constructive initiatives and diplomatic efforts aimed at solving this problem within the framework of the UN, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures, as well as their participants on the basis of unity and solidarity on these issues.

The conference participants highly appreciated the humane position and humanitarian assistance of Uzbekistan in the amount of US$1.5 million, allocated at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the residents of the Gaza Strip.
