Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 April, Chairman of the Oliy Majlis Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms Erkin Gadoev met with a delegation led by Vincent Bigot, an economist and political analyst at the Directorate General of the European Union Commission for International Partnership.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Uzbekistan, including inter-parliamentary relations, were discussed, information was given on the role of parliament in the formation and distribution of State budget funds, issues of parliamentary control, ongoing work within the framework of the “Open Budget” process to ensure openness and budget transparency in Uzbekistan.

The delegation of the European Union, supporting the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, noted that over the past 7 years, the European Union has established cooperation with Uzbekistan to improve the management system, the transition to a "green" economy and projects for the development of the agro-industrial sector.

In addition, it was said that in recent years a technical assistance project in the amount of 33 million euros has been implemented, as well as 7 million euros for the provision of advisory assistance in order to support the efforts of the European Union aimed at developing agriculture in Uzbekistan, and cooperation in this direction will continued.
