The second stage of the reconstruction of the terminal "Tashkent-2" continues at the international airport "Tashkent"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second stage of the reconstruction of the terminal "Tashkent-2" continues at the international airport "Tashkent".

As part of the reconstruction, the total area of the departure terminal will be increased from 44,001 sq.m to 74,301 sq.m. The territory will be expanded with new construction, expansion of check-in, waiting, baggage claim and border control areas. As a result, the airport’s capacity will increase from 1,200 to 2,400 passengers per rush hour.

The reconstruction of the station square and the automation of parking lots for the convenience of passengers and their attendants have also begun. Work began with a small parking lot in the arrivals area, then the station square in front of the arrivals hall will be reconstructed, which, according to the project, is divided into three parts - a parking area, a pedestrian area (benches, fountains, green areas) and separate taxi lanes.

In parallel with the work begun, the final stage of the transfer of parking lots to the balance of Uzbekistan Airports is underway. So, to date, Uzbekistan Airports has signed an act of acceptance and transfer of parking lots with the State Unitary Enterprise Center for Management of Municipal Assets, as well as the relevant documents have been submitted for reissuing cadastral documents for them. At the same time, a decision is being prepared by the single shareholder - the Ministry of Finance - to include the cost of parking in the authorized capital of Uzbekistan Airports JSC.

As part of the reconstruction of parking lots, Uzbekistan Airports purchased parking equipment, the installation of which will begin in the near future. The purchased parking system will allow entry / exit and payment acceptance without the participation of personnel. Funds will be accepted in an automated online cash terminal in cash, as well as non-cash through bank cards and mobile payment applications. The management company is developing a flexible system of tariffs, taking into account the location and duration (hour, day) of parking. In addition, the system will have a mobile application that will allow you to book a parking space in advance, as well as make payments remotely. Also, parking lots on the territory of the Tashkent airport will be equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles.
