The second round table of the Uzbekistan Country Platform takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The second round table of the Uzbekistan Country Platform was held in Tashkent. The event was supported by the European Union.

More than 80 participants from government and international organizations took part in the round table to discuss reforms in Uzbekistan and coordinate the support provided.

Participants discussed prospects for cooperation within 13 sectoral working groups that support the priorities of the "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy, including agriculture, energy security, green growth, rule of law, and other important areas.

Bakhodir Rakhmatov, Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms, emphasized: "Constructive cooperation between development partners and the government enables us to achieve key reform goals set by the President of Uzbekistan, aimed at creating a prosperous and sustainable future for all citizens. The Agency for Strategic Reforms plays an important role in coordinating the activities of ministries and agencies with development partners, ensuring the successful implementation of the strategic plan approved by Presidential Decree No. PP-109, and enhancing the efficiency of public administration."

The round table also discussed the importance of coordinated efforts to support national priorities, including Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization by 2026.

The European Union, which took over the secretariat functions from the World Bank in May of this year, will continue to support the Country Platform until the end of 2025.

Charlotte Adrian, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, noted: "We are proud to co-chair the Country Platform and promote it as a forum for open dialogue, cooperation, and interaction between Uzbekistan and development partners. Our common goal is to support Uzbekistan in its reform efforts. The Country Platform is an opportunity to unite our efforts and move forward effectively towards prosperity and sustainable development, leaving no one behind."

At the end of the meeting, the government and development partners agreed to submit work plans to the Secretariat to ensure regular exchange of support and information, advancing reforms in the interests of the people of Uzbekistan.
