Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-fifth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, senators considered the Law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of land legislation.”

The discussed Law contains a number of rules aimed at improving the procedure for exercising the right of limited use of someone else’s land plot (easement), relations related to land lease, and rules relating to privatized land plots.

The law establishes that leased non-agricultural land plots, along with rights and obligations, can be transferred (rented) to another person with the consent of the lessor.

It also provides that individuals and legal entities who received non-agricultural land plots in the manner prescribed by law through an electronic online auction can transfer (release) the rights and obligations in relation to the land plots received for lease to another person, but not more than for the lease period.

In addition, the Law establishes that the easement is also preserved in the case when the rights to the land plot on which the easement is established are transferred to another person; the easement cannot be an independent subject of sale, gift, pledge or lease.

It is provided that the easement does not deprive the landowner, land user, tenant and owner of the land plot of the right to own, use and dispose of this land plot.

The senators noted that the adoption of the Law serves to further expand rental relations, legal regulation of relations related to the establishment of easements, and reliable protection of the rights of landowners, land users, tenants and owners of land plots.

Taking into account the relevance and necessity of this Law during the discussion, the senators approved it.
