The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts dies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Charlie Watts, drummer of the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones, has died at the age of 81. This was announced by the official representative of the musician Bernard Doherty. Sad news soon appeared on the team’s Twitter page.

“We are sorry to inform you that Charlie Watts has passed away. He died in London in a hospital this morning. The family was there. Charlie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and one of the best drummers,” the message said.

The exact cause of the artist’s death has not yet been named. However, it is known that about three weeks ago he underwent surgery. Doctors forbade the drummer to tour and go to rehearsals, noting that he needed complete rest.

Due to the "medical procedure," Charlie had to skip the fall US tour. He was sad and promised fans that he would soon recover and please them again.

“After all the suffering that COVID has caused our fans, the last thing I want is for people who bought tickets to be disappointed again by another rescheduling or canceled tour. So I asked my good friend Steve Jordan to replace me,” Charlie Watts said before his death.

What kind of health problems the drummer had - no one knows. He did not like to talk about it. Only occasionally did he notice that he was feeling "slightly unwell," reminds NEWS.RU. Fans mourn the irreparable loss.
