Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-eighth plenary meeting of the Senate, senators discussed the Law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the provision of legal assistance at the expense of the state.”

In recent years, systematic work has been carried out in the country aimed at unconditionally ensuring the legal rights and interests of people, increasing citizens’ faith in fair justice and strengthening guarantees of their rights to receive qualified legal assistance.

In particular, the Law “On the provision of legal assistance at the expense of the state” was adopted, creating the opportunity for citizens to fully enjoy the right to receive qualified legal assistance guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, there is a need to bring some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan into compliance with the Law “On the provision of legal assistance at the expense of the state.”

The law introduces amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at determining the procedure for ensuring the participation of a lawyer in criminal, civil cases and cases of administrative offenses and in other cases provided for by law to provide legal assistance to persons entitled to receive legal assistance at the expense of states.

It was noted that this Law serves to further expand the opportunities of citizens to achieve justice and ensure the right to receive qualified legal assistance at the expense of the state.

At the end of the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
