The results of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council were summed up

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The heads of government of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which took place on 2-3 February in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) in person, considered eight issues.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved the rules for access to services for the interstate transmission of electrical energy (capacity) within the framework of the common electricity market of the EAEU. This is the first part of a package of rules necessary to launch a common electricity market, which the heads of government of the EAEU are to adopt.

The heads of government of the EAEU countries supported the proposal of the Eurasian Economic Commission to include in the joint integration project "Eurasian Agroexpress" transportation carried out along the international transport corridor "North-South" in the direction of Turkmenistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of India.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council decided to amend the Regulation on the development, financing and implementation of interstate programs and projects in the industrial sector. This document has been in force within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union for 5 years, since February 2018, and now there is a need to adjust its individual rules.

At the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council, the Eurasian Economic Commission presented a report on the macroeconomic situation in the states of the Eurasian Economic Union and proposals to ensure sustainable economic development. The report contains information on current trends in the development of the world economy, the dynamics and prospects for the economic development of the EAEU states, analyzes the obstacles to growth and proposes principles and criteria for supporting the development of the economies of the Union countries.

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will take place on 7-9 June in Sochi (Russian Federation).

The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was attended by the heads of government of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union - Chairman of the EMEA, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Chairman of the Cabinet Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as well as Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, Secretary General of the CIS Sergey Lebedev and heads of governments of observer states to the EAEU - Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov (in person) and Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz ( by video).
