Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 November, the second meeting of the Republican Council for the Development of Bicycle Sports was held in Tashkent. The meeting was chaired the chairperson of the Bicycle Federation of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva.
The meeting, held in video conferencing mode, was attended by members of the Republican Council for the Development of Cycles, representatives of ministries and departments, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokimyats of regions and the city of Tashkent.
The meeting discussed the implementation of the Presidential Decree “On Complex Cycles for Cycling” from 24 September 2021, in particular, a number of important issues, such as increasing the popularity of cycling among the population, ensuring the worthy participation of members of the national team in Asian and Para -Asian Games, Asian championships, and World Cups, and other major competitions, achieving high results.
Chairperson of the Bicycle Federation of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva noted that the National Paralympic Committee, together with the bicycle sport Federation, has been established systematic work to increase the mass of parallel sports among young people with disabilities, identifying and selecting talented youth, emphasizing that our youth, fruitfully using fruitfully using The created conditions, demonstrating its talent at international competitions, took 1st place in the team championship at the Para-Asian championship in Dushanbe in 2022.
In total, in 2022, the team members won 50 medals at prestigious international competitions. So, the national team won 1st place in the general community perception at the games of Islamic solidarity. The Tashkent City Women Professional Cycling Team team also took 1st place (20th place in the world ranking), and the Tashkent City Professional Cycling Team team took 3rd place (40th place in the world ranking) in the UCI ranking of the Asian continent.
In accordance with the presidential decree on the award of a group of science, education, healthcare, sports, literature, culture in connection with the 30th independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 30 August, a member of the national team of Uzbekistan for cycling Olga Zabelinskaya was awarded the honorary title "Honored Athlet of Uzbekistan".
Work is also underway to develop appropriate infrastructure in the regions for the development of cycling. In particular, in the area of Lake Sangor in Jizzakh, a sports complex of BMX was built, which meets global standards and received a certificate of the International Cyclists Union.
In 2022, the first bicycle track (highway) of 5.5 km was built in the mountainous areas of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, designed for international cycling competitions with the involvement of international specialists, which meets the requirements of the International Cypendivists Association (UCI) for extrematic type of cycling sports "MTV".
In Bukhara, Karshi, Navoi and Termez colleges of the Olympic and Paralympic reserve sections for cycling were created.
At the same time, it was said that the regions have shortcomings in the creation of a material and technical base for the activities of the regional branches of the bicycle sport federation. In particular, in Andijan and Bukhara regions, work was left without attention on the annual allocation of 40 bicycles due to the superly filled part of the local budget for the regional departments, as well as to allocate 2 Damas cars in order to ensure the safety of cyclists.
The meeting analyzes the issue of providing sports and educational institutions with sports equipment, equipment, clothing and equipment, fully compliance with state and international standards for sports, as well as work to support the activities of the Uzbek professional sports club of cyclists under the cycle sport of Uzbekistan.
In order to develop parallel sports, proposals were made in the regions to provide qualified coaches, sports equipment (bicycles) for classes with talented paramports in sports educational institutions.
The need to create infrastructure for the development of cycling, creating conditions in which special attention will be paid to the regions, accelerate work aimed at strengthening the financial and material and technical base of the units of the Federation and sports facilities was also emphasized. Work was also considered to carry out plans for the construction in the regions of various sports complexes specializing in cycling.
In turn, during the meeting, measures were determined to develop bicycle sports in the regions, plans for the future, including the tasks of wide attracting young people to these sports, their identification, selection of selection as professional athletes.
