The Regulation on special registration as value added tax payers in tax authorities was approved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Tax Committee approved the Regulation on special registration as value-added tax payers in tax authorities. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Committee.

This Regulation envisages the mandatory or voluntary registration of taxpayers of value added tax in a unified automated system of registration of taxpayers with tax authorities.

Taxpayers switching to VAT are required to register with the tax authorities as payers of this tax, which is a condition for offsetting the amount of VAT.

The application for registration is considered by the tax authorities within 5 days from the date of receipt of the taxpayer application and an appropriate decision is made on the registration of the taxpayer with VAT, after which the Certificate is issued in the form approved by the State Tax Committee.

As soon as a taxpayer is registered as a VAT taxpayer, he is automatically assigned a VAT taxpayer registration number through the system.

VAT registration number indicated in the Certificate is subject to mandatory registration and processing of invoices or other substitute documents.

The regulation also determines the circumstances under which a VAT certificate of a taxpayer can be canceled. In particular, if the court finds that the taxpayer is engaged in false business, he is subject to deregistration.

At the same time, the Regulation envisages maintaining a unified register of VAT taxpayers to ensure registration and unified accounting of VAT taxpayers. All taxpayers will be provided with free access to the registry.

These measures will serve as a quality account and, in general, will ensure transparency in doing business.
