The public sector to support private business in the arts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A government resolution was adopted on measures to promote and finance the implementation of public-private partnerships in the field of culture and the arts.

The resolution approved the List of objects of state ownership, which can be transferred on the basis of legislation on public-private partnership in the field of culture and art.

Also, the resolution approved the Regulation on the procedure for accumulating and using funds on an individual treasury account to finance projects carried out on the basis of legislation on public-private partnership in the field of culture and art.

According to the Regulation, funds held in a special account are used to create non-state cultural and art institutions to provide a preferential loan for the construction, reconstruction and repair of facilities on the basis of an agreement on public-private partnership.

In addition, the resolution approved the Regulation “On the procedure for granting subsidies from the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan to non-state cultural and art institutions operating under the conditions of the legislation on public-private partnership”.

This Regulation applies to non-state theaters and circuses, zoos, palaces of culture, concert halls, cultural centers.

Grants from the budget are allocated to cover part of the expenses of non-state cultural and art institutions on the basis of annual income and expenses, contracts for the provision of cultural services.

According to this, the entrepreneur applies to the financial authority with a statement on the allocation of subsidies with the attachment of relevant documents.

A non-governmental institution of culture and art can apply for grants from the budget within two months after the reporting month.
