Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating an incident with a mass beating of school employees captured on CCTV cameras, Khayot Shamsutdinov, spokesman for the law enforcement agency, said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.

Earlier, a record of the incident that outraged the public was circulated on social networks. Users say that it happened last Friday, 14 April, at school No. 31 in Uzun district of Surkhandarya region.

The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed that the incident occurred during a meeting in the office of the director of secondary school No. 31 in Uzun district. A 34-year-old man (teacher) quarreled with two female colleagues and inflicted bodily harm on them.

“On this fact, on 18 April, a criminal case was initiated under Article 277 “Hooliganism” of the Criminal Code. The suspect was detained in a procedural order, ”the Prosecutor General’s Office said, adding that the investigation into the case continues.
