Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 December, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev to discuss the progress of work on the creation in the Shavat district of the Khorezm region " Uzbek-Turkmen border trade zone - Trade Center”.

The meeting was attended by heads of interested ministries and departments, industry associations, and local authorities.

The progress in the implementation of specific tasks defined in the Protocol on the creation of the “Uzbek-Turkmen border trade zone - Trade Center”, signed during the state visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan in October this year, was analyzed in detail.

Reports were heard from the responsible leaders of the Working Groups on resolving issues related to the allocation of a land plot of 3 hectares in the Shavat district of the Khorezm region, the development and coordination of design estimates with all interested ministries and departments, and the involvement of commercial banks to finance the project. Responsible managers were given targeted instructions to ensure the high-quality and timely implementation of each stage of the project with the establishment of control over the execution of the tasks set.

Aspects of interaction with the Turkmen side were discussed in the framework of coordinating the operating modes of the Trade Center, the application of benefits and preferences in tax administration, customs and border control. The need for consistent and high-quality joint study of issues arising during the implementation of the project was emphasized.

Following the meeting, the attention of responsible leaders was focused on the importance and prospects of the early launch of the Trade Center for the development of trade and economic relations between the two states, and in this context, additional tasks were set as part of accelerating the implementation of the project.
