The processes of internal development and prospects for strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 April, the International Institute of Central Asia, together with the Institute of Eurasian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations, held a round table on the topic "Processes of internal development and prospects for strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China."

The event was attended by Director of the International Institute of Central Asia Vladimir Norov, Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations Ding Xiaoxin, as well as experts from the two institutions.

During the round table, the Chinese side was informed about the upcoming Referendum on the adoption of a new Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the need to harmonize the Basic Law with the modern realities of society, consistently implemented reforms, and, most importantly, create a solid legal foundation for building New Uzbekistan.

Opening the event, ICA Director Vladimir Norov noted that the message of the esteemed President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Parliament and people in December 2022 was one of the main political events of the past year, which identified key priorities for further reform and modernization of Uzbekistan for the coming period.

As the director of the ICA noted, a key place in the speech of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was occupied by the topic of building a New Uzbekistan, where a free, comfortable and prosperous life of the multinational people is ensured.

In this context, he named the improvement of the Basic Law, which should correspond to the modern development of society, as one of the priority tasks.

The amendments made to the draft Constitution, in essence, have incorporated all the necessary points that will meet the new realities and ensure the achievement of the goals outlined in the adopted New Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.
