The process of certification of accommodation facilities in Uzbekistan decreased to 15 days

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In recent years, the state has been paying great attention to the tourism sector. The regulations are being amended to regulate the industry while creating business benefits.

Accommodation facilities (hotels, hostels, motels, sanatoriums, guest houses, etc.) are certified on the basis of the Regulation "On the Procedure for Certification of Tourism Services and Classification of Tourism Industry Objects", approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. This process is carried out by the State Unitary Enterprise "Center for Certification of Sports and Tourism Services" (hereinafter referred to as the Center), which is part of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

To obtain a certificate, the applicant (entrepreneur) sends by mail or submits electronically an application to the Center with the attachment of documents (a copy of the inventory and lease agreement, conclusions of regulatory authorities, copies of contracts concluded with enterprises that ensure the safety of guests and the quality of services provided).

This application will be considered by the Center within one working day and a decision will be made on certification or denial of certification. On the day of the decision, the applicant is sent a decision on certification or on refusal to carry out certification with an indication of the reasons and the attachment of a certification agreement.

After the applicant transfers funds to the bank account of the Center under the agreement, the Center forms the composition of the commission. The Commission will start carrying out the assessment within five working days after the approval of the order of the Center’s management. The commission assesses the certified object within three working days (no more than two working days for the services of the tour operator) for its compliance with the requirements of regulatory documents. Then the necessary decision is made. If the applicant timely eliminates the reasons that served as the basis for refusing to issue a certificate or refusal to issue a certificate, the center will re-evaluate.

On the day the decision is made, the Center sends the applicant a decision to issue a certificate (with an attachment to the certificate and an agreement on the right to affix the conformity mark) or to refuse to issue a certificate. After the decision to issue a certificate is made, an agreement is concluded with the applicant on the right to use the certificate and the mark of conformity.
