The procedure for receiving a gift to state civil servants at international and other official events is determined

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The regulation on the value of a gift that can be received in connection with business trips, international and other official events by state civil servants, as well as on the procedure for disposing of it, has passed state registration with the Ministry of Justice.

According to the Regulation, a civil servant may receive gifts during business trips outside Uzbekistan, at international and other official events, as well as at international and other official events held in Uzbekistan.

Gifts cannot be received on other business trips in Uzbekistan.

A gift that a government civil servant receives must meet the following requirements:

the items in the gift must not be prohibited by our national law;

the gift must be given voluntarily at an international or other official event;

accepting a gift must be open and transparent;

the gift must not damage the reputation of the public body;

the gift should not cause a conflict of interest or carry a corruption factor.

A state civil servant presents a gift to the economic department within 3 working days after arrival from the event, an act is drawn up about this.

If the value of the gift is not clear, it is estimated by the economic department. Then, if the value of the gift does not exceed four sizes of basic estimated value (1.2 million soums), the gift is awarded to a civil servant.

If the value of the gift exceeds 4 sizes of basic estimated value, it is credited to the balance sheet of the state body by the financial and economic unit and used for the needs of the state body.

Gifts that quickly become unusable (flowers, sweets), as well as stationery (calendars, booklets, plastic pens, diaries and notepads), are not registered as gifts, they are left to a civil servant.

The requirements of this Regulation are mandatory for all public civil servants.
