Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law “On introducing additions and changes to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of pharmaceutical activities was signed by the President.

The law introduced amendments envisaging the possibility for healthy persons to voluntarily participate in clinical trials of pharmacological or medicinal products.

The director of the clinical trial is obliged to provide the subject of the clinical trial with a detailed explanation of the significance of the method, nature and possible risks of this study.

A person has the right to refuse to participate at any stage of the study.

In the case of conducting research with the participation of a minor or incompetent subject, written consent must be obtained from his parents or other legal representatives before starting the research.

A clinical trial in minor subjects must be preceded by a clinical trial in adult subjects.

The law comes into force on the date of official publication.
