Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 September, the State Academic Bolshoi Theater named after Alisher Navoi in Tashkent will host the premiere of the ballet "Lazgi".
Lazgi, a dance with a history of 3000 years, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2019. The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, has granted the honorary right to carry out the ballet production under the auspices of UNESCO to the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts.
The choreographer of the production is Raul Raimondo Rebeck, a graduate of the Berlin National Opera, and designer Yoko Seyama, Japanese multimedia artist.
Folk dance "Lazgi", the melody of which finds a response in the hearts of all Uzbeks, enters the big stage, becoming an unconditional world classics.
After the premiere, the performance will begin its tour of Europe and Asia.
