The preliminary winner of the tender for the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant in Kashkadarya has been announced

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 24 May, the preliminary winner of the tender for the construction and operation of a 300 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Guzor district of Kashkadarya region was announced, the press service of the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

This project is being implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the "Project Development and Advisory Services Program for the Construction of a Solar Photovoltaic Plant with a Total Capacity of 300 MW" (Phase 2 of ADB).

Two international companies submitted their proposals for the implementation of this project. Results of the opening of financial proposals:

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar Company (UAE) offered 3.0000 US cents per 1 kWh of electricity generated by a solar power plant and 6.33 US dollars per 1 MWh of battery system availability.

ACWA POWER-Saudi Listed Stock Company (Saudi Arabia) offered 3.0518 US cents per 1 kWh of electricity produced by a solar power plant and 24,425 US dollars per 1 MWh of a battery system.

As part of the project "Construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in Guzor district of Kashkadarya region", Masdar is declared the preliminary winner of the tender, and the reserve winner of the tender is the company "ACWA POWER-Saudi Listed Stock Company" .

Tender documents will be reviewed and approved by the Tender Commission with the participation of ADB consultants in the coming days.

This tender was held by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection.

The project includes a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 300 MW in the Guzor region and an energy storage system (battery) providing 75 MW of power for 1 hour.

The winning investor will design, finance and operate the solar PV plant for 25 years.
