The practice of automatically turning off electrical equipment in an apartment due to excessive use has been temporarily suspended

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Uzbekistan, the practice of automatically turning off electrical equipment in an apartment when it is overused has been temporarily suspended. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The agency notes that at the moment unconfirmed reports are being published on social networks about the power outage of a house that consumed more than 4.5 kilowatt-hours of electricity.

In accordance with paragraph 63-4 of the Rules adopted by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 12 January  2018 No. 22, the power of electricity can be limited for domestic consumers in order to rationally use the electricity consumed.

A power limit of 10−15 kW can be set by an automated system for monitoring and accounting for electrical energy (ASKUE), depending on the minimum power of the devices required for the needs of consumers and the region.

The ministry notes that this practice is used in areas with high consumption, and when the consumer turns off unnecessary equipment and reduces the voltage from the set norm, the meter will automatically turn on within 15 minutes.

However, this norm was temporarily lifted to support consumers on cold days, the Ministry of Energy emphasizes.

That is, when the apartment owner consumes electricity in excess of the established norm, the meter will not automatically turn off.

The Ministry of Energy urged consumers, if possible, not to use unnecessary, redundant electrical equipment, save electricity and turn off energy that is wasted.
