Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The registration procedure for citizens will be canceled in Tashkent and Tashkent region. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Instead, a new procedure for informing citizens about their place of residence will be introduced.

The document states that the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to submit to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis within two months a draft law on the abolition of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the list of categories of persons - citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan subject to permanent residence in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region", in order to ensure full implementation the right to free movement around the country and the choice of place of residence, as defined in Article 32 of the new edition of the Constitution.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs was also instructed to submit a draft presidential decree within a month, which will contain completely new mechanisms for informing about the place of residence of citizens
