Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 November, an opening ceremony of the Uzbekistan pavilion took place in the city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for specialists in the field of tourism to travel to Chinese provinces and widely promote the tourism potential of our regions, as well as the importance of establishing direct flights from Chinese cities to Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Surkhandarya region and the Fergana Valley.
A copy of the Registan ensemble, located on an area of more than 10 thousand square meters allocated to Uzbekistan, created the atmosphere of Samarkand. The creation of the Uzbekistan pavilion will further increase the tourist attractiveness of our country.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Amanbay Orynbayev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shodiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the PRC Farhad Arziev and other officials.
Umid Shodiev in his speech said: “Park Uzbekistan” is a unique symbol of the centuries-old Uzbek-Chinese friendship, and we believe that this beautiful park will become a favorite place for local residents and guests of the city. At the same time, this park, together with the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, will become an important platform for mutual cultural, humanitarian and tourism events,” he said.
