Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The flow of Belarusian tourists to Uzbekistan tripled over the past year. Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism Irina Voronovich spoke about this, BELTA reports.
In 2022, more than 1.5 million tourists traveled within the country. “There shouldn’t be fewer of them this year. We see this in the objects, in the load and in the interest of our citizens,” said Irina Voronovich.
In addition, Belarus is developing interaction with friendly countries. “The head of state recently visited Uzbekistan. We are interacting with our Uzbek colleagues and have already signed a plan for 2024. According to the indicators, we see that the flow of Belarusian tourists to this country over the past year has increased 3 times compared to 2022. Uzbekistan is an interesting and beautiful country, with a completely different history and culture. It is important to develop domestic tourism on the basis of reciprocity with other countries, because when returning, a person loves and appreciates his country even more,” the director is sure.
“We work closely with the regions, and Russians come to the Rest 2023 exhibition with large stands and interesting offers. Belarusians also open up their neighboring country from a new perspective,” noted Irina Voronovich.
