The next graduates of the project “English for Science” were awarded

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A reporting event and an awards ceremony for participants in the 3rd season of the English for Science project, implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the World Bank's MUNIS project, were held.

The event was opened by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov.

“Today, it is important to invest in science and innovation to transform the economy and achieve inclusive and sustainable development,” the minister said. - The most valuable capital of a scientific society is the property of any state and is in many ways a factor determining its well-being.

About 200 young scientists-researchers who took part in the 3rd season of the project got the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and skills of academic English free of charge. The project received a total of 1436 applications for participation in the 3rd season. 200 people who successfully passed the selection for the second stage were recommended for participation in the program after an interview in English by a team of experienced trainers-educators.

For 8 months, students were trained according to the program, consisting of III stages. At the first stage of Journal Selection, participants gained skills in selecting and working with journals in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.

In the second stage of Academic writing, participants worked in small groups to prepare articles. At the third stage, called Grants and Scholarships, participants had the opportunity to apply for international grant programs to commercialize their scientific developments, and in this direction, representatives of various fields were divided into small groups and involved in practical exercises. At the end of this phase, active students in the fields of medicine, engineering, and the humanities applied for several grants.

Program participants got the opportunity to publish their scientific articles in more than 180 international scientific journals, including those included in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. In addition, during the program, participants prepared applications for international grant programs on more than 30 topical topics.

In 2023, it is planned to implement the project in Bukhara, Samarkand and Ferghana regions of our republic.
