The new season of international sports races "Save Aral" has started

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 February, the next season of the Save Aral charity international run, organized by the Athletics Federation with the support of the Ministry of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic Committee and the khokimiyat of Syrdarya region, started in the city of Gulistan. About 2 thousand participants joined the first run "Save Aral - 2022".

Since 2019, at the initiative of the Athletics Federation, mass races “Save Aral” have been organized in large and small cities of Uzbekistan, which have grown into a whole sports movement. Over 3 years of existence, more than 100 thousand citizens took part in the events, 35 races were held throughout the republic.

The "Save Aral" races have already become a traditional mass cultural event in regional centers. In 2022, about 30 sports races will be organized directly by regional khokimiyats with the support of regional representatives of the Ministry of Sports Development and the Athletics Federation. In total, from February to November, it is planned to organize 50 races in all regions of the country and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. This year, Uzbekneftegaz joined as one of the main organizers of sports events.

For the race in Gulistan, the administration blocked the central streets of the city: from Gulistan and to the Mustakillik streets. The employees of the khokimiyat themselves supported the "Save Aral - 2022" race and ran a distance of 3 km.

“Residents of Gulistan and all adjacent cities and regional centers actively participate in all initiatives, sport is an important part of their life,” the khokimiyat of Syrdarya region notes, “We are very proud to say that the participant of the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo, young and talented athlete Safina Sadullaeva is a native of the city of Syrdarya.
